2014 China Economic and Social Forum which sponsored by China Economic and Social Council and CPPCC Yunnan Provincial Committee was held on 10th October in Kunming. Leading figures of the central government and the relevant ministries and experts and scholars discussed how to play the role for Yunnan Province in the strategy of One Belt and One Road, and make further deepen the opening of along-border cities.

The forum is on the subject of improving the construction of One Belt and One Road, based on the development of national economy and society, focused on carrying out the strategy of One Belt and One Road, to show the historical contribution and the future development potential of the Silk Road, to propose valuable advice to further strengthen the effect of Yunnan Province in the new round of opening to the outside world.

As the member of China Economic and Social Council, President Li Yong was invited to attend the forum and his speech material was also selected into the forum highlights. During the forum, President Li Yong had a cordial talk with the member of secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, the vice chairman of the CPPCC Du Qinglin, the Secretary of CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee Qin Guangrong and Executive Vice Secretary-General of CPPCC Sun Huaishan, discussed together how to improve the strategy of One Belt and One Road, got consistent high praise and recognition of the leader figures and honored guests.
